Ukraine Day #5

Day #5 Tuesday

This morning we sat in on the first two classes the Ukraine students had. This week was about spiritual gifts. The teacher taught in english, then was translated into Russian.
They have very colorful graveyards. They are very well kept, with many fake flowers, they celebrate similar tradition to mexico "The Day of the Dead"
Then we drove out to the World War II Museum to learn about the history and to more better understand what really happened here.

Photo by Kylie of me taking a picture.

The indoor museum cost money to take photos. We split up into two groups, and they paid for me to take photos and Patricia for the other group.

This cross is made out of guns.

Tim Moroz is Ukrainian, but grew up in the states since he was 6. He found his last name, probably part of his family line that went through the war.

AFter eating, we went to the market to buy some souvenirs, however we only had about an hour to shop/barter, so it made it very hard to buy many things.

Then we went to the "Silent Forest" were the communist just took people out to shoot against the trees if they had any suspicion at all that they were against the government.

Then we went to the market, to get some goodies, like chocolate and tea.
