SFNJ (Solid Foundation New Jersey) Trip! (The First Few Days)

This is my first stop for the trip, at Kenny Hopkin's house, today was rainy day, so we headed out on Sunday instead of Saturday for Jersey.

First stop on the trip, Walmart, needed to pick up some supplies before we headed out.

It wasn't long before we started to have some fun, with the interesting things we saw on the way.

GPS was a huge help, but these things don't always work right, we drove in a circle a couple times, one point it thought we where a whole road over then what we were.

It was a rainy day, but the traffic was to bad. We saw some signs warning about floods.

Sure enough there was a pretty bad flood. The water went up on the shoulder of the highway. It didn't ruin our travels at all, but these poor people are going through a lot right now. I never seen a flood in person like this before, only on t.v. so it was really crazy to me.

We arrived in about 2:30 hours wasn't to long of a trip. Everything went really good. It was about 3:30 when we got to Steve Wolfe's house. (he runs SFNJ skate ministry).

We slept at Steve's mother's house for the week. I got the big bed, it wasn't to much of a fight it.

Kenny and I worked in the office with Steve, the picture to the left is not the office, that is the Barn, it was an actual office that we worked at. We helped with printing and mailing newsletters, painting skateboard graphics, we went to a couple of meetings, etc. The first two days we where here, I actually didn't even touch my skateboard. Sunday night was a relaxing day, then Monday, we where at the office all day, then had some Bible classes to go to at night.

We got a little cleaning done in the park, before the Groms (12-younger) came for skate club.

Skate Club is a way to reach out to skaters in their culture. Steve opens the park for kids to come skate for free, and then will share a Bible story/message with the kids to teach them about God.

Today was game day, the kids had to form a team of 2 or 3 to create a trick working together. I am helping a couple kids make up a trick.

After skating for about 3 hours, the Groms leave, and then the Junior High kids arrive for skate club. We took an hour break to eat, then opened the park to skate with them. Today was game day for them too, we had an High Ollie Contest. I won, ollieing a barrier, some black plastic thingy, and a 8in skateboard.
