Ghost Month in Taiwan

At 6am I am woken to fireworks and singing. The streets are filled with smoke as my neighbors go out to burn fake money to the ghost. Around ever street corner is someone burning money or performing rituals. The buildings are filled with the smell of smoke and ash debris blown in.

As we went for a walk, we stumbled into a big worship ceremony going on in the middle of a Elementary School. They filled the tents with tables covered in food to sacrifice to the ghost.
