Disability Friday (Last Day of School)!!!

Andrew and I made up a day called Disability Friday. We made up a list of disabilities (characteristics) that you have to act out when you draw it out of a hat. Then we go out in teams to on a photo hunt, trying to find the location of the photo, to lead you to the next clue.

We started out with giving everyone a disability during breaks between classes, until 2:00 when we start the photo hunt. I started out as a stunt man ocd, luckily I came prepared and happened to bring my helmet to class, because earlier that morning we were playing bike wars/javelin.

Among the list of disabilities was; blindness, old age, In search of mystical creatures, pokémon trainer, mumble mouth, and we included "Owen" as a disability trait that you could draw.

We received our first clue, leading us to a location...

I ended up getting forced to switch teams, joining up with Kylie L. and Emily B.

Switching disabilities. I think over the whole day I had; Stunt Man, Hunter, Pirate, Slow-mo, and narcoleptic.

I don't really think there was a winner, but it looked crazy if you walked around campus, seeing all these people running around, yelling and doing stupid things. I am excited for the more exciting adventures and games to come this coming spring quarter.

(Our purpose was not to make fun of anyone with a disability, we purposely tried to avoid having disabilities that may seems offensive.)

Operation: Lobster Snatch (Birthday Kidnap)

It was Will Gallison's birthday this past week. So I decided I wanted to kidnap him, then through a birthday party at Mark and Amy's. This is us planning our kidnapping moments before he arrives back on campus.

Will arrives back on campus, we walked over asking him if he would like to go out for ice cream.

As he was distracted from the conversation, Kyle put a bag over his head, then we all moved in to help get the job done.

We try to hold him still, while Kyle and Paul tie his hands and feet.

As I closed the trunk I heard a thud and a yelp. I slammed it down on his head! at least thats what I thought, I shut the trunk on his foot.

Later when we opened the trunk again, Will leaped out at me, I quickly reacted by trying to close the trunk, slamming it on his head, but again, I was deceived, I slammed it on his elbow.

Mark and Amy were kind enough to have us over, to their new apartment in Schroon.

Amy made a Lego birthday cake, it was really creative, and fun.

We had a great time at the party, most of the photos from the rest of the party, are very random because a couple of girls were playing with the camera...

Jericho

Snow Camp is over, so a couple of people (Will Gallison and others) destroyed the walls of the Jericho (Snow Castle), with pitch forks and shovels.

Snow Camp Week #8

This is the final week of snow camp for 2010! I am working in the kitchen, nothing to excited, I serve about 800 people every meal. During lunch the line was running slower then normal so we had to stay open half-hour longer then normal. It was really warm this weekend up to 40 f. In between my lunch and dinner shift, I got to play rumble ball with the campers. The field had lots of puddles, my feet got very soaked, I began just running through the water not caring. It was my goal to tackle someone into the puddle of water, but I never got a very good opportunity, the other team didn't really play offense, keeping themselves with a good distance from the water pit.

The snow camp season was fun, I am probably going to be bored not knowing what to do on the weekends. I have grown through it, and have been challenged in different ways then last year. Through being a Unit Leader, I got to work with people I probably would have never met, not realizing how much fun they are. God continues to reveal great things to me, about him, and what I am capable of through Him.

This weekend we had 27 Salvations!

Paparazzi

As I been walking around campus, I have noticed something I never noticed before...we have a lot of famous people here staying with us, as students and staff. I have also figured out by now that, photographers get a lot of money for selling photos to magazines for rare photos of these people in environments they are normally not caught in. I rounded up a crew of photographers and went on a hunt.

But what good is a photographer without a good story, so on our way we grabbed a reporter to ask some deep inside questions that most students never knew about!

I think most staff enjoyed the attention/company/excitement for the day.

Snow Castle!

What do you do, when you get so much snow you need to remove it from the sled hill... build a Snow Castle. I wish I could take credit for this, it was built by those of the maintenance crew with nothing to do.

The man who raised me up in the greatest books to read, which are still my favorite, was born on this very fine day back in 1904, in Springfield, Mass. Through his books I learned a lot, I would never forget while standing by my Mom's cooking pot, the lessons that where taught. In dedication of this man, I went to the library yesterday, and read a Dr. Seuss book, to a friend who hasn't had much experience with the great Dr. Seuss, she indeed enjoyed his fine rhyming, like no other man can, with such a creativity. So celebrate this day with me, Go read one of the finest authors, to your childhood memories, or read to a friend who hasn't heard his books. Maybe even go make a costume, or write a Dr. Seuss like poem of your own.
